How it works
- Open Word Tiles and choose Pass and play, Play vs Otto (Easy, Medium or Hard) or Play with friends.
- Place tiles from your rack of seven on the board and press Submit word. The first word must cross the centre star. Recall takes tiles back, Shuffle reorders the rack and Pass skips a turn.
- Using all seven tiles in one move earns a 50-point bonus. Four passes in a row end the game.
- For Play with friends, create a room and copy the invite link; the friend joins from their own device.
Ideas for your lesson
- Vocabulary building with a strong group: play in pairs and note every new word.
- Project a Pass and play game and let two teams take turns.
- Homework: play Otto on Easy and bring three new words to the next lesson.
Good to know
- The bag holds 100 tiles, including two blanks. A word that is not in the game’s list can still be played if the players agree.
- Each game is for two players. Online rooms keep the game (names, board and racks) on this site’s server while you play; no other service is involved.
- It needs www.abcwebsites.online and loads its font from Google Fonts.
