One player sees a big word with five banned words beneath it and has to get their team to guess the big word without using any of those forbidden clues. It pushes players to reach for synonyms, definitions, and roundabout descriptions, brilliant for fluency practice, vocabulary, and thinking on your feet.

Quick start

1. Set the round length, the two team names, and a target score to win.
2. Pass the phone to the describer for the team whose turn it is, then start the round.
3. They describe the big word without saying any of the five banned words below it.

Built-in word deck

Scoring & bonus squares

Each letter has a value, and the board's coloured squares multiply your score: triple word, double word, triple letter, and double letter. A framework is the shape of the lesson, the order of stages that moves learners from meeting new language to using it freely. There is no single best one; match it to your aim.

Each check has its own toggle, so you can focus on one problem at a time, for example, hunting only for passive voice in an academic draft, or only filler words in a speech. Turn them all on for a full sweep, or all off to read clean.

Two ways to view

“Red underline” marks issues right in the text, the way you'd correct on paper. The indicator view replaces them with short codes, sp. (spelling), t. (tense), ww (wrong word), so students can practise interpreting the kind of shorthand teachers really use when marking.

WordLab works fully on its own using the corpus, and it is completely free. When Otto is connected, he sits on top of every tool: a one-line verdict on a phrase, a corrected rewrite of a sentence, and, in Exam writing, an estimated band or grade against the official criteria plus two of the student's own sentences rewritten at a higher level. Otto runs through the site's own domain, so nothing is sent to a third party and the filter-safe promise holds. Quick start

1. In the Build tab, give your form a title and an optional description.

3. Reorder, edit, or mark questions as required, and watch the live preview update.
4. Open “Collect live”, create a share link, and send it out, responses arrive in real time.
