How it works in class
- Type your topic, then pick a level from A1 to C2 (or mixed), a length from a 10-minute filler to a two-hour lesson, and a picture style. In Simple mode, Otto chooses the rest.
- Switch to Pro mode for full control: one or two frameworks from PPP, ESA, TBL, ARC, CLIL and Dogme, skills, an exam focus, up to three class needs and between two and seven worksheet exercises. Then generate the plan and the student materials together, or one at a time.
- Teach from it. Print the plan and the worksheet, show the lesson as full-screen slides, or turn on Try online so students type their answers into the worksheet and check them on screen.
Ideas for your lesson
- Plan a 15-minute filler on something the class brought up that morning.
- Set the exam focus to Cambridge B1 Preliminary, B2 First or IELTS for exam-class practice.
- Use the Scheme of Work tab to map a 6-week course at two lessons a week, then generate each lesson with one click.
- Tick Fast Finishers and Dyslexia / Visual under differentiation for a mixed group.
- Save a Class Profile for each group so the form fills itself in next time.
- Type a request into Adapt plan, for example a shorter warmer and more speaking, and Otto rewrites the plan.
Why teachers use it
- You get the plan and the worksheet together, with a teacher copy that shows the answer key.
- Fifteen exercise types to choose from, including gap-fill, true or false, error correction, role-play cards, an A/B info-gap and dictogloss.
- The tool says Otto checks each plan against a CELTA-assessor checklist, with instruction-checking and concept-checking questions built in.
- Edit any text before you print. Saved lessons and class profiles go to your account, so they follow you to another device.
- Slides download as a PowerPoint file, and the plan and worksheet print or save as PDF.
