How it works in class

  1. Pick an activity from the tabs and set it up: a prompt, a sentence with mistakes, an opening line, a claim to debate or a seed word.
  2. Click Show on screen. Students join with the code or QR code on their phones.
  3. Answers appear on the board as they come in. In Spot the Error, press Reveal answers when you are ready.

Ideas for your lesson

  • Six-Word Summary: after a chapter, ask for the plot in exactly six words. The board counts how many managed exactly six.
  • Spot the Error: write a sentence with three mistakes and tap them as your answer key. The board shows a heatmap of the words the class tapped.
  • Collective Story: give an opening line. Everyone proposes the next line, the class votes, and the winning line is added.
  • Argument Map: post a claim such as: homework should be optional. Students send arguments for and against, and can attach rebuttals to a specific argument.
  • Word-Association Web: put a seed word in the centre before a new topic to see what the class already knows.

Why teachers use it

  • Five different activities live in one place, all joined by code or QR code.
  • Students do not need accounts or an app.
  • In Spot the Error, students never see your answer key until you reveal it.
  • It is free to try, and this link opens without an account.

Frequently asked questions

Do students need accounts?

No. They join with the code or QR code on the board, in their phone’s browser.

Is Live Activities free?

This link opens it in your browser with no sign-up. The ABC toolbox lists it as free to try.

How does Spot the Error show results?

As a heatmap over your sentence. The darker a word, the more students flagged it. Your answers stay hidden until you press Reveal answers.

How does voting work in Collective Story?

Everyone proposes a next line, the class votes, and the winning line is added to the story. Repeat until the story is finished.
