Privacy Notice

How the ABC Learning Hub and ABC Classroom handle your data. Last updated: June 2026.

Who this covers

This notice applies to teachers and students who sign in to the ABC Learning Hub (the learning dashboard) and the ABC Classroom on abcwebsites.online. If a student is under 18, a parent or guardian should review this notice and consent on their behalf.

What we collect, and why

We deliberately collect the minimum needed to run the classroom:

  • Your name and email address — taken from the Google account you sign in with, used to identify you and link a teacher and student together.
  • Shared classroom data — homework you assign or submit, feedback and grades, messages between a linked teacher and student, and the lesson schedule. This is stored so both sides of a class can see the same thing.
  • Personal study data — your own vocabulary lists, journal entries, goals, badges and notes. This is private to your account.

We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use your work to train anything.

What your teacher can and cannot see

A teacher you are linked to can see the shared classroom data — your homework, submissions, grades, messages with them, and the schedule. Your teacher cannot see your personal study data (journal, mood, personal vocabulary, private drafts) — that stays private to you.

Where it is stored

Shared classroom data is stored on our own WordPress database at abcwebsites.online. Personal study data is stored under your account using Google Firebase. Access is restricted to you (and, for shared data, the teacher or student you are linked with).

Your rights — export and deletion

You are in control of your data. From the dashboard, open “🔒 My data” at the top right to:

  • Download a copy of everything associated with your account, as a file; and
  • Delete your data — this permanently removes your class links, homework, messages, schedule and personal study data. This cannot be undone.

You can also email us at kyle@abcwebsites.org to request a copy or deletion of your data, and we will action it.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your data or ask us to, it is removed promptly. Inactive accounts may be cleared periodically.
